On February 19th, we had the privilege of showcasing the AirBasic windsifter from WESTERIA at a live demonstration hosted by Repurpose It in Epping, Melbourne. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Repurpose It for their support and for providing the opportunity to demonstrate this innovative separation technology in action.

Bringing Windsifting to the Field
The AirBasic brings the proven efficiency of WESTERIA’s windsifting technology into a compact, mobile machine. Designed for versatility, it can be configured in various ways to ensure optimal separation results at any site. One of its standout features is the ability to feed material from any direction (180°), making integration into different processing lines seamless.

At the heart of the AirBasic is a two-way separation system, with the option to incorporate additional modules such as the AirLift or DiscSpreader to enhance performance. The machine’s patented adjustable and precise nozzle system ensures superior separation efficiency compared to other products on the market. An acceleration belt propels material at speeds of up to 3 m/s, and depending on the setup, transfer heights of up to 2490 mm can be achieved with integrated conveyors. The system’s precision ensures high-purity output fractions.

Addressing Key Challenges in Organics Processing
During the demo, we had insightful discussions with industry professionals about the ongoing challenges in decontamination and sorting within Australia’s organics processing sector. As the industry strives for higher purity in recovered materials, innovative technologies like the AirBasic are becoming increasingly valuable. The ability to efficiently separate light and heavy fractions in a mobile, adaptable system makes the AirBasic a strong solution for operators facing contamination issues.

Looking Ahead
The positive feedback and engagement we received at the demo reaffirmed the importance of advanced sorting technology in modern recycling operations. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with industry partners to drive efficiency and sustainability in material recovery.
